Honoring Our Pioneers: Financial Aid and Welfare Donation for Senior Makeup Artist Mr. W. Jayathissa


The Professional Makeup Artists’ Association of Sri Lanka (PMAASL) remains committed to the welfare of the veterans who paved the way for our industry.
Following a formal request made by the PMAASL to the Department of Cultural Affairs, we are pleased to announce that senior makeup artist Mr. W. Jayathissa was awarded a financial grant of Rs. 50,000 today. This grant is part of the department’s initiative to support retired artists facing financial hardships.
In addition to facilitating this government grant, the PMAASL Executive Committee approved a further donation from the association’s funds. A dry ration pack worth Rs. 10,000 was gifted to Mr. Jayathissa to support his daily needs.
The handover ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests and association representatives, including:
– The Director General of the Department of Cultural Affairs
– The Chairman of the Arts Council of Sri Lanka
– The Chairman of the Television Sub-committee
– Mr. Nayana Ujith – President, PMAASL
– Mr. Narada Thotagamuwa – Chief Organizer, PMAASL
– Mr. Nimal Subasinghe – Senior Member, PMAASL
